Is your safety score costing you loads?

Brokers check a carrier's FMCSA safety score before giving loads. A high score can mean fewer loads, more roadside inspections, an FMCSA audit and higher insurance.

Why it matters

Your safety score follows your trucks everywhere.

FMCSA scores carriers on their roadside inspections and violations from the last 24 months. Brokers, insurance companies and FMCSA itself all use those scores to decide how to treat your company.

Brokers check it first

Many brokers look up your FMCSA scores before they give you a load. High scores can get you passed over for better-paying freight.

More roadside inspections

Carriers with high scores are more likely to be pulled in at scales and inspection sites — more stops, more delays, more violations.

FMCSA audits & warning letters

Scores above FMCSA's intervention thresholds can lead to warning letters, investigations and compliance reviews.

Higher insurance costs

Insurance companies review your safety record at renewal. A clean record helps you get better quotes.

Challenge wrong violations

Not every violation is fair. Some can be removed.

Violations that were written up by mistake, entered on the wrong USDOT number, or already fixed can sometimes be challenged through FMCSA's DataQs system. When a challenge is accepted, the violation can be corrected or removed — which can bring your scores down.

Your scorecard shows which violations may be worth challenging. If you want help, our team files DataQs requests for carriers every week.

How fast will I get it?

Right away. The PDF is emailed automatically as soon as your payment goes through.

What time period does it cover?

The last 24 months — the same period FMCSA uses for roadside inspections and violations in its safety measurement system.

Is this an official FMCSA report?

No. Cali Permits LLC is a private compliance company and is not affiliated with FMCSA or USDOT. Your inspection data is public FMCSA data; our scorecard puts it in one clear report, explains it and shows you what to fix.

Can you help remove violations?

Yes. The scorecard points out violations that may be challenged through DataQs. If you want, our team can file the DataQs requests for you — call (559) 455-8027.

Why does my score matter if I have no crashes?

Brokers, shippers and insurance companies look at your inspection and violation history, not only crashes. Maintenance, hours-of-service and driver violations can all push your scores up.
